Best Answer

No, snails are NOT dangerous! They are mostly all vegetarians, and couldn't harm humans if they tried.

Another answer

Slugs and snails carry the lungworm parasite and have been proved to be fatal to dogs in some cases. Ask your local veterinarian for more details, they often have free information leaflets on display in their practice.

In gardens, no. In fish tanks, yes. They help eat algae and keep the tank looking better while keeping the algae from getting out of control. Both fresh and saltwater can benefit from snail usage.

Are brown garden snail dangerous?

Brown garden snails, in my opinion, aren't that dangerous. I know this from experience. I take care of brown garden snails right now, and touch them all the time. So far, during the past 1 year, I haven't had any skin problems, or been sick in any way because of these harmless creatures. Actually, I am trying very hard not to hurt THEM. If I drop them, they're shells are actually pretty delicate, and sometimes a bit of it gets crushed. They grow it back though, thankfully, but brown garden snails are NOT dangerous. No poison, no sharp teeth. Don't be worried.
