both are elements.
but both form ionic compounds
If it's a non-metal and non-metal, it is a colvalent bond. If it's metal and non-metal or metal and metal, then it is ionic. Magnesium Sulfate (MgSO4 / Magnesium + Sulfate) is IONICbecause it is a metal and non-metal but it has a convalent bond in it, which is SO4 (Sulfur + Oxygen).
magnesium chloride is a non- conductor electricity
Magnesium oxide has ionic bonds between magnesium and oxide ions.
ionic because its metal and non metal
it is ionic ofcoarse .. as ionic is metal (sodium) and a non metal (carbonate) bonding together

magnesium chloride is a non- conductor electricity
Generally magnesium forms ionic bonds with non-metals.
Magnesium oxide has ionic bonds between magnesium and oxide ions.
ionic because its metal and non metal
Because sodium is a metal and chlorine is a non metal, it is ionically bonded.
Magnesium oxide, or MgO, is an ionic compound: the result of a metal reacting with a non-metal.
it is ionic ofcoarse .. as ionic is metal (sodium) and a non metal (carbonate) bonding together
Sodium chlorate is an ionic substance, as it consists of a metal (sodium) and non-metallic elements.
Sodium bicarbonate is an ionic compound.
it is ionic bonding because magnesium is a metal and oxygen is not. ionic bonding occurs between a metal and non-metal
I don't think there's an alternative name for them. An individual one is named by putting the metal first, then the non-metal with its ending changed to -ide. Examples: sodium and chlorine make sodium chloride. Magnesium and nitrogen make magnesium nitride.
