I assume you mean sponges, and they are obviously invertabrates (they lack a back bone).
Invertabrates are not divided; if they were, they'd die.
Well what makes them invertabrates is that they don't have back bones or spine.

Sponges... Starfish.... Also things like worms too. Spiders...however, spiders are arachnids. But still they are invertebrates. (Invertebrates are animals/insects which have no cranium and backbone.) - emz

Sponges don't have skeletons! They are invertebrates which means the creature doesn't have a backbone, but in this case, it doesn't have a skeleton! (I think this is right, I apologize if it isn't)
