Stem cells are cells that have not specialised. Specialist cells can only be the one thing that they are specialised for; ie, you cannot turn skin cells into a heart, or liver cells into a brain. Stem cells have not specialised and can therefore become any type of cell. I am not sure how they are stimulated to become one kind or another, but they can. Adult stem cells are not as good as embryonic stem cells, but because harvesting embryonic stem cells requires the destruction of a human embryo it is banned in many countries.
like any cell the nucleus of a stem cell contains DNA. DNA contains instructions for cells and this is what tells them how to specialise and then they become specialised
The only one of the 220 different types of Human Cells that is not specialized is the Stem Cell.
Stem cells come from newly fertilized eggs.
Yes. Manipulating stem cells into specialised cells involves several steps, and also requires very advanced and expensive technology.

This is when a cell is specialised to do a certain job. ^^ that doesn't answer the question. All I know is that stem cells have a large central vacuole that is used mainly for support.

stem cells They are unspecialised and can become specialised to perform certain function
An embryonic stem cell potentially can develop into ANY cell in the body theoretically without limit to replenish, and an adult stem cell is only able to mature into a specialised tissue cell from which tissue the cell is positioned.
a regular cell is natural ???????? right? A stem cell is a cell that can renew themselves to form other types of cell. Example:Human egg cell/ovum This is an example of a totipotent stem cell. Totipotent stem cells are those cells that can transform into any type of cell. There are many types of stem cells like pluripotent stem cells, multipotent stem cells etc.
Some properties of stem cells are their ability to self-renew and their capacity to become specialized cells.
Cell specialisation is when a cell becomes specific for a particular function. Unspecialised cells are called stem cells. Stem cells can become specialised for a particular function by undergoing cell specialisation to become cells that are responsible for a particular function. For example, when a stem cell undergoes specialisation to become a heart cells, its main responsibility is contracting to pump blood around the body.
