Same thing the pilgrims ate.
Massassoit [c. 1581-1661] was the chief who was at the Pilgrims' first Thanksgiving. He already knew the Pilgrim community. Earlier that year, on March 22, 1621, he had concluded a friendly treaty with the colony. His Pokanoket Indians were part of the Wampanoag Confederacy that was on unfriendly terms with the Narragansett Indians of the same area. Massassoit wanted to get along with the Pilgrims, to keep them from allying with his enemies.
A tradional Thanksgiving meal usually has turkey, mash potatoes, stuffing, corn, and cranberries. There reason for that is because it is a tradition the pilgrims established at the first Thanksgiving. Pie is a hit or miss. Your thanksgiving will probably be the same with or with out pie.
The first meal was in the same wash up place the Pilgrism did! The Indians came to see and ante with the pilgrims there. Tehy would then place the corncopi so the fruits could be seen.
because they will have to live in the same territory and they have to live and eat with each other. the Indians teach the pilgrims how to fish and hunt.

Although turkey has become the de facto main course for Thanksgiving dinner, there is no evidence that turkey was eaten at the first Thanksgiving meal between the Pilgrims and Indians. They most likely ate venison (deer) and seafood. It is possible that turkey was on the menu, but it would have just been another bird that was shot the same as a duck or a goose. It would have been cooked differently. More than likely the turkey would have been roasted over a fire or boiled. It certainly would not have been deep fried in oil or stuffed and oven roasted as it is today. So how did we get the idea that you have turkey and cranberry and such on Thanksgiving? It was because the Victorians prepared Thanksgiving that way. And they're the ones who made Thanksgiving a national holiday, beginning in 1863, when Abe Lincoln issued his presidential Thanksgiving proclamations...two of them: one to celebrate Thanksgiving in August, a second one in November. Before Lincoln Americans outside New England did not usually celebrate the holiday. (The Pilgrims, incidentally, didn't become part of the holiday until late in the nineteenth century. Until then, Thanksgiving was simply a day of thanks, not a day to remember the Pilgrims.)
Thanksgiving is usually celebrate in a house. The reason is because most of the harvest crops tastes good when around a table in a warm house. Some people celebrate Thanksgiving at Ford Field of Coyboys Stadium with their tailgate. Answer: It's celebrated in the United States to commemorate a celebratory dinner attended by Pilgrims and Indians. It's celebrated in Canada, too, but I don't know why. (And it's not the same date.)
Then:· Came from their journey on the Mayflower.· They were devoutly religious people and this day consisted of fasting and prayer.· A lot of the Pilgrims died from the harsh winter and starvation.· In the Spring the Indians helped the Pilgrims grow corn, catch fish, and make maple syrup.· They invited the people from the Indian tribe to join their celebration. Now:· Thanksgiving is not held on the same day. It's now help in November.· Now there are Parades, large shopping events (black Friday), people watch football (Rose Bowl).· Thanksgiving now is a time when FAMILIES get together and share food, thankfulness, and love.· Thanksgiving NOW is mainly about PREPARING A MEAL. *** (This is a lot different than back then, because back then thanksgiving was a day for fasting (not eating) in thankfulness to God.)
The Pilgrims and Puritans are the same thing and Massachusetts is the answer
I'm sure only America celebrates Thanksgiving because it is about the Pilgrims settling on the new land and holding a feast for the Native Americans to show their appreciation. The natives helped show the Pilgrims how to survive by planting things, hunting certain animals, etc... It's just like how the 4th o' July is America's Independence day.
