if it idels high most likely it will be your air flow massenser and there not hard to install just when you install this make sure you desconect the battery for 30 min.this will reset your computer leave the battery disconected for about 30 min.this should take care of the problem

No. Not that I've seen or heard of.
1974 models does not have throttle positions sensors. 1974 models have a carburetor. Only models with fuel injection have throttle position sensors. Sounds like someone is pulling your leg.
Throttle position sensor is located at the throttle body. There are only two sensors there. The one facing the firewall is what you are looking for.
