Most gas engine cars can easily reach 200k+ miles if properly maintaned before needing major reconditioning. Diesel engine cars can probably double that, the motor anyway.
Cars were built to drive old or new. I've seen new cars that i would not drive a long distance. If it is in good running order go for it. you got a 50/50 chance with any car. Just have a cell phone handy.
