There are several medication to treat hemophilia.
Clotting factor proteins are normally the go to medication for hemophilia. Since hemophilia is the result of a deficiency in these very specific proteins, injecting the missing protein into the vein is a form of treatment. There are several different companies that grow the proteins in a lab specifically to be used in treatment of hemophilia as well as several other companies that simply fractionate the factor proteins out of whole blood for the same usage.
Other medications for hemophilia may include anti-inflammatories to assist the person in reabsorbing blood and reducing swelling.
