It is an old and often exaggerated believe that "the Jews" control Hollywood. That is false. There are indeed some famous directors who are Jewish (like Steven Spielberg), and in the early days of film, many of the major movie studios, such as MGM and Warner Brothers, were owned by men who were of Jewish ancestry (although generally assimilated and non-practicing). Others, like Walt Disney, were not owned by Jews, nor did many Jews work there. These days, most studios are owned by corporations, some of which are global entities with offices in Japan or England, and all of which have boards of directors whose members come from various religious backgrounds.

And contrary to some websites that promote the "Jews control everything" myth, a majority of the major actors and actresses are not Jewish; many of the best-known directors are not Jewish; and in fact, Hollywood has more of a mix of beliefs than you might think. It is certainly true that some studio heads in the US are Jewish; but again, an equal number are not. In fact, several film magazines have studied the ethnic and religious backgrounds of the major players in Holloywood: in 2010, it was estimated that about 25-30% of the most powerful and influential people in Hollywood are Jewish; thus, about 75-80% are not.
