The advancement possibilities depend on the company you work for, but in general, teamsters can expect to accrue seniority (not insignificant in most union jobs) and ... really not much else. This might impact, for example, the locations you're sent to (new hires might have to drive the crummiest shifts to the crummiest locations, while the senior drivers get to drive to Hawaii ... well, probably not, but you get the idea).

Go outside and stand by any road or street. Look at the vehicle that pass by. When you see one with an open bed behind the drivers cap area that is a truck. Or you can just type "truck photos" into any search engine on your browser and it will bring up photos of many trucks.
