Commercial flights to Lanzarote are certainly available, check flight dates and times with airlines, and even check the internet for some smaller commercial flights that might be cheaper.
You would expect it to be just like any other flight you've taken. You'd be on the plane and just wait to get to Lanzarote. You'd eat food on the plane and probably watch movies/sleep.
