I believe that China took the most sensible answer to the population problem they face because the only other solutions i can think of are killing people or giving some orphans over to Japan where they face an aging population.

Did people have a chance to leave China if they disagreed with the one-child policy?

People in China can leave anytime they want to. China isn't a dictatorship that forces everybody to stay in the country like a prison cell. The reason for the one child policy is to lower population to prevent over population in China. If they do want a child, they will have to pay the amount of 60,000 USD. THere is no fine if you adopt though.

What countries have a Population Law?

Some countries that have population laws include China with its one-child policy (now relaxed to a two-child policy), India with various state-implemented population control measures, and Iran with its policies encouraging higher birth rates after previously promoting lower birth rates. These laws are often introduced to manage population growth and address social and economic challenges.

Why they cant stop the one child policy?

The Chinese government can stop the one child policy if it chooses to, in 2010. However this seems unlikely as the aim of the government is to drastically lower the population of the country. At the same time the reason that they started the policy was so that everyone would have a certain amount of land to farm on. However, now the majority of China's population work in factories or cities. They therefore need less land and this is an incentive to stop the policy.

What were the goals of the one child policy?

Mostly to stop unchecked population growth. After the PRC was formed, China was still one of the most populous countries in the world despite the ravages of war and famine. Most of China population at that time were farmers and parents produced many children (>3 in most of the cases) in hope of producing more human labour. This, if allowed to continue, would cause the already large population to mushroom to a size that would be impossible to maintain with the limited resources in China, leading to an eventual famine that would cause massive deaths and seriously impede any meaningful economic development. The government decided to implement the one-child policy to strictly control population growth by limiting the number of children to one per family (two in rural families if the first is a girl). This approach, though fraught with civil rights violations, have produced noticable results in reducing the population growth rate.

What benefits has the one child policy has brought to china?

It is reducing the likeability of poverty. If there are anymore children then there will be no more food, water, jobs, space to live or any other nessesities people need to enjoy their lives. The higher the population, the lower the living standards.

Does Norway or Italy have a lower population density?

China -_-

Why was the one child policy introduced to china?

China is already the most populous nation in the world. And population growth tends to be exponential (1-->2-->4-->8...etc). A nation only has enough resources to sustain a certain level of people unless they are wealthy enough to buy other nations resources. With China already having over 1 billion people, they put limits on the amount of children a family could have to help lower the population.A major downside to this is that male children are very highly desired in Chinese culture and with the one child policy, baby girls tend to be killed or aborted.

Why are Chinese family smaller now?

Because they had such a big population, they started to slow down the population rate as it was so high and big. They brought in the 'One Child Policy' which gives your first child free education and health care and lower housing taxes etc. but if you have two children, you don't and get and average years salary fine.

Why more developed countries have lower population growth rate?

More developed countries generally have lower population growth rates due to factors such as better access to education and healthcare, higher levels of economic development leading to smaller family sizes, and greater availability of contraceptives and family planning resources. Additionally, social norms and cultural trends in these countries often prioritize individual pursuits over having large families.

How does china keep its population under control?

China's population being to big caused there to be more demand than resorces. So they had to limit the birth rate because to many people were going hungry and the economy couldn't keep up with it.
