The only side effects of freeing up disk space is that you will now have more space on your hard drive to store other files on it (If you are talking about Windows asking to remove temp files etc. this is generally safe because Windows knows what it needs to run and won't delete system files). It doesn't usually take long to delete files because the operating system only has to remove the location reference to where the files are on your hard drive not the actual data. If you free up space correctly, there should not be any side effects. It may take more than a few minutes if you do other steps besides Disk Clean Up.
1. On the Windows PC, you would use Disk Clean up in System Tools (Accessories) to remove temp files and other similar files.
2. If you are removing document files, you would use Explorer (right click start, choose Explore) and delete individual files from the yellow My Documents folder. However, a better way to do this, so that you don't inadvertently remove program files would be to use the Search feature for documents. Then, type in *.doc for Word files or *.xls for those from Excel.
3. To remove old programs, use the Add/Remove programs in Control Panel. Find this by going to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs. Be very careful with this if you do not have the disks to replace programs you remove.
4. Music or image files can be copied onto a CD (if you have a CD burner) and then deleted from your system.
When you have completed as many of these steps as you wish, return to Programs>Accessories>System Tools and choose Disk Defragmenter. This will optimize the space on your computer, organizing the files so that the space is more useable. If you have not done this in some time, it can take hours. Also, turn off your screen saver (right click the desktop and choose none in the screen saver box) and close any programs that are running so that the program will keep running uninterrupted.
Computer viruses have been known to cause millions of dollars worth of damage.

When someone asks you to describe your office space, they are asking you to describe the setting of your office. It's good to tell them about your desk, computer layout, windows and anything else worth mentioning.
What computer
A space shuttle is worth over a thousand dollors, maybe millions!
For hard drive space, it is not only possible, but is the norm for today's computers. Desktop computers do not have the physical space for the sticks of RAM that would be required for 100 GB's worth. Many servers do, however.
