Why do frogs make good pets?

If you are a beginner frog keeper, you need a friendly, easy-to-take-care-of frog. Green tree frogs, White's tree frogs, and African Dwarf frogs are some that are good starter frogs. Beginners should NEVER get Pacman frogs, bullfrogs, Pixie frogs, or Red-eyed tree frogs. You should only get these frogs if you are an experienced frog keeper. Pacman frogs bite and snap and growl, bullfrogs are huge and vicious, and can give you a nasty bite (so can Pacman frogs!), Pixie frogs are big and also vicious, and Red-eyed tree frogs are VERY VERY VERY fragile and break joints easily. So again, Green tree frogs, White's tree frogs, and African Dwarf frogs are the way to go!

Are red eyed tree frogs venomous?

Red Eyed Tree Frogs don't carry any poison. Though, if you handle them, our skin is more dangerous to them then their skin is to us. The vibrant, bright colors only scares away predators, but they do not have any poison carried around. Hope that helped!

What can you feed a tree frog?

Tree frogs are carnivorous and will eat a variety of bugs: crickets, wax worms, meal worms, super worms, blood worms, and fruit flies. You should have a vitamin and calcium supplement and sprinkle it on the bug so your frog gets plenty of vitamin and calcium. If your frog is tiny, fruit flies are the best. Medium sized frogs will eat meal worms, blood worms, and small crickets. Wax worms, super worms, and the larger sized crickets are pretty big, so you should only feed these to the bigger tree frogs, like White's tree frogs or any other big tree frog.
