In Final Fantasy IX you can set the controllers to respective characters who will then be playable by that controller in the battle screen. Controller 1 however wil always control the main character on the world map / area map. This feature also appeared in several re-issues of old Final Fantasy games for the Play Station - i.e Final Fantasy VI

What do you think is the relevance of graphics in games today. Would you rather play Final Fantasy 7 on the ps1 or Final Fantasy 13 on the ps3 given that you have'nt played both?

I would say that the relevance of graphics is really up to you. Final Fantasy XIII is a gorgeous game. Final Fantasy VII is more of a classic. Now, if you haven't played any Final Fantasy games at all, I would recommend starting with Final Fantasy IX or X. Both of those games are pretty accessible for a first-time Final Fantasy player. Choosing between the two of those, however, I would say to play VII first. It's a classic, and it's really a phenomenal game. XIII isn't to everyone's taste, and therefore I wouldn't recommend it for first-time Final Fantasy players.

When Final Fantasy will become as a movie?

Actually, there is a movie about Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children. I saw it but I forgot if I saw it on the Internet. The stars are Cloud,Tifa, Denzel and many more. There is also Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within that came out before Advent Children. It doesn't have any of the characters from the games but is does have a slight relation to Final Fantasy 7.

To understand Final Fantasy XIII I have to play the previous games?

No, the 'main series' Final Fantasy games are completely separate from each other, even though a few names and concepts are shared across the series. But storywise, they are unrelated, you do not need to know anything about any other Final Fantasy game.
