Yes, there are a lot of villages in the Alps. What makes travel in Switzerland great is that if a certain area has anyone living in it, it will have a train passing through it. So a lot of small villages are accessible only by cog railways or by windy roads with lots of switchbacks. For especially picturesque and interesting villages, check out Leysin or Gstaad in Switzerland.
