Yes, but they tend to be religious liberals and treat the Genesis stories (there are two of them, actually, back to back) as allegorical rather than literal. Also, the Roman Catholic Church has made peace with the discrepancies between a literal interpretation of Genesis and the evidence of evolution.

Has Science disproved the Creation story?

Yes. Creation is a story while evolution is science. The two can really never explain each other. You can not use science to explain any fairy tales.Creationists do think that their story does explain things.Answer:No, of course not. As the above answer states, the two cannot explain each other. Science cannot prove that God didn't create the Universe. A significant percentage of scientists believe in God as the creator and the agent of evolution, or without evolution.Answer:Just because some scientists believe in god, it doesn't mean that they believe in creation stories. The argument that because they believe in god must mean that they don't believe in evolution is illogical. And a creationist would first have to prove god exists and explain god's origins.

Did Albert Einstein believe in evolution?

I understand that he did not believe in God/Jesus even thought he was Jewish. I do not recall reading anything about is beliefs on evolution. Does someone have the answer to this question? Thanks

Do any qualified scientists support the creation theory?

Prior to reading the answers below, it is perhaps important to note that there is no 'creation theory'. There are various religious creation myths, but no comprehensive and robust scientific model that has any explanatory or predictive power.Answer: Quite a few scientists support creation theory. This places them out of step with the mainstream scientists who believe in autobiogenesis, or a spontaneous origin of life, coupled with evolution. As Richard Dawkins put it "It is a monumental disagreement. One side or the other has got to be wrong, and not just slightly wrong but catastrophically, ignominiously, disastrously wrong."Prior to the 20th Century, most scientists believed in Creation.Today, there are numerous organizations of scientists who support creation theory: Answers in Genesis ; Creation Research, Science Education Foundation; Institute for Creation Research; The Creation SuperLibrary and others. Some publish peer-reviewed journals, such as the Creation Research Society's CRS Journal and the Journal of Creation by Creation Ministries International (The Australian arm of Answers in Genesis).Answer While it is true that many "scientists" disagree with evolution in favor of creationism, that number drops significantly when you consider only those who study nature or life, and is almost non-existent when you consider only those with expertise in fields like biology, paleontology, geology or astronomy - the above list may seem impressive, but it is out of well over a hundred thousand PhD scientists alive today. Now it's also important to note that many scientists believe in some sort of god or creator, but are not creationists. Creationism generally refers to strict 6-day creation fundamentalism or the movement to teach that there is a god in science classes in public schools. About 60% of scientists believe in a personal god, many believe this god created life indirectly, which can be considered a different sort of creationism. Meanwhile about 99.85% of earth and life scientists (those same scientists who mostly believe in a personal god) accept evolution as well.Answer Yes, quite a few actually. Many scientists and researchers have come to support the creation theory because as they study 'Creation -vs- Evolution' they have found that there are more 'holes' in the evolution theory than there are in 'Creation'.Both Creationism and Evolution start with presuppositions. Evolution starts with the presupposition that God, if He exists, played no part in the development of species, but that they developed by macro-evolution or chance mutations that resulted in benefit to the organisms; Creationism presumes that He created all species, and that there are minor adaptions which occur naturally, called micro-evolution.

Why is evolution necessary?

There is no such thing! The Bible states that God Created the earth in 7 days. Not a big bang hit the earth and everything was there. The answer above is very Christian-centric, but here's an answer in a nutshell: Scientists can't prove that there was an evolution, but they cannot disprove it either. So evolution wasn't nessecary, if that's what you believe. You know what? This whole question is regarding YOUR personal beliefs.

Evolution occurs and is not just a theory?

Some people believe in it while others do not. Belief itself is irrelevant. The theory could be true or false regardless of how many people believe or disbelieve. I personally accept it as accurate due to the evidence that the fossil record and DNA gives us but many Christians (and those of other religious beliefs) believe that to say that Evolution is real is to deny that God created everything. There are those who believe that God created evolution. Evolution is a theory but in science terms a theory is a widely accepted (by scientists) explanation supported by data. The evidence evolution occurs runs rampant through the genetic code of modern species and through the fossil record. Compare the earliest amphibians to sarcopterygian lungfish. Considered legged cetaceans. Examine the human chromosome that is a fused pair of "monkey: chromosomes. Contemplate the GULO gene. Why should we share a defective gene for the synthesis of ascorbic acid with old world monkeys? These are all strong indicators evolution has occurred, though the theory of evolution is the explanation that ties these facts into a coherent picture.

How can you believe in evolution and god?

You can believe evolution was caused by God and he controls it.

Why do people who believe in Catholicism don't agree with evolution?

It is not forbidden by Catholicism to believe in evolution. The reason many people who believe in a god do not believe in evolution is that evolution's adversary, Intelligent Design, makes far more sense to one who believes in God that anyone who does not, although you can believe in intelligent design and not believe in God.

Why don't scientists believe in God?

You're making the question far too black-and-white. Many scientists believe in God, and many non-scientists do not. It is not always "belief in science" versus "belief in God".

Is god real in a scientists mind?

There are scientists that believe in a god and there are scientists that don't. Surveys find that a large majority of scientists do not believe in a god and even fewer believe in a creation account of the world.

Is it true that only atheists accept the theory of evolution?

No. Many theists, including Christians, believe that evolution occurred. Belief in some sort of god and belief in evolution are not mutually exclusive. Some even believe evolution was guided by some divine entity such as God.

Were you created by God or through evolution?

This question has no known answer. The existence of God cannot be proved. You either believe in God or you don't. However, it's much easier to show the existence of evolution. So, many people would feel that evolution is the answer. It's likely that a lot of people who believe in God also believe in evolution. They are not necessarily mutually exclusive. However, there will also be a body of people who feel everything was created by God.

How would a person who believes in philosophy of evolution describe god?

God is the creator of the universe. People who believe in evolution believe that God created things and allowed them to evolve.

What is a term one is given if they do not believe in god or evolution?

The term for one who does not believe in god claims is atheist. There is no commonly used term for one who does not believe in evolution, although the widespread confidence in evolution found in the scientific community and many countries may lead to the term "evolution denier" or "evolution denialist".There is no specific term used for one who shares both these characteristics.

What Do You Believe Creation or Evolution?

I believe in evolution because we find so many fossils from the past and still no miracle from God has yet happened. I believe in creation because there is way more proof!!

True. Many of the most intelligent people, including many scientists do not believe in God.

Do people who believe in Darwinism believe in god?

It's not always a contradiction for an evolutionary biologist to believe in God or a religious person to believe in evolution. In Judaism, for example, there are some theories, interpretations and beliefs which actually compromise between the two schools.
