There are many lakes on earth. Some are The Great Lakes, Lake Victoria, and The Great Salt Lake.
Generally Lake Victoria is considered to be the source (start) of the Nile. On the northern edge of the lake, water pours over a waterfall, known as Ripon Falls, into a narrow opening which some people believe is the beginning of the River Nile. Ripon Falls may be the starting-point of the river, but the many streams that flow into Lake Victoria could claim to be the true source. Much of Lake Victoria is surrounded by mountains with streams tumbling down into the lake. The largest tributary of Lake Victoria is the Kagera river. The Kagera and its tributary the Ruvubu, with its headwaters in Burundi, is now considered to be the true source of the Nile. It is from here that the Nile is measured as the world's longest river.
Lake Victoria (26600 square miles) is the largest lake in Africa. See Related link.

A lake is defined as a large body of water that is surrounded by land. Some of the common lakes include Lake Victoria, Lake Como, Lake Superior and many more.
Lake Victoria is primarily fed by several rivers, with the most significant being the Kagera River, which is the largest tributary. Other rivers that flow into the lake include the Nzoia, Yala, and Sio rivers. In total, there are about 15 major rivers that contribute water to Lake Victoria. These rivers play a crucial role in maintaining the lake's ecosystem and water levels.
