I have seen some photos in the Chickamauga Battlefield Museum in Chickamauga, Georgia.
There are a few photos of the artist Peter Griffen but without knowing when exactly they were taken it's rather difficult to tell if he is currently overweight. In the photos however, he does not appear to be a heavy man.
