There are no reptiles in the polar regions it is too cold for them as they are cold blooded.
Because they are cold-blooded. Most reptile species need the sun to keep them warm, and temperatures in the Polar regions are very cold and dry.
Hope this helped,
Umi.
because they get too cold
All the Christmas cards and movies showing penguins frolicing with polar bears are wrong. Penguins are found only in the Southern Hemisphere and polar bears are found only in the Arctic regions of northern Canada and Europe. Five species breed in Antarctica and others live in Australia, Africa, and South America.
They could, but they don't. The polar bear is an animal of the artic regions. The penguin species are found in Antartica, and the southern coasts of South America. If food supplies were plentiful, they could easily live in the same region.
Penguins do not live in igloos. Eskimos, who live at the north polar regions, live in igloos. Penguins live in the southern polar regions. There are very few people, and no igloos, at the south pole.
Both polar bears (which live in the Arctic) and emperor penguins (which live in the Antarctic) are adapted to living in arctic climates. They both depend upon the presence of polar ice shelves.
There are reptiles on every continent - except the north and south polar regions (it's too cold !)
