There are many boarding schools and military schools or troubled teens in Texas. The following website lists all the boarding schools in the Texas area www.mytroubledteen.com/boarding-schools/texas.html
Unfortunately there are not many boarding schools or military boarding schools in Colorado. The one that I could find closest to you that works with troubled teens and their parents is the Abundant Life Academy. Their phone number is 888-305-6729. You can call for a confidential discussion and they state that if they are not the right choice for your teen that they will help you find what you need (which will be out of the Denver area).
No, not at all: from my boarding school experience, there is too much choice of healthy and delicious food. At PREP boarding school, everyone even checked that you were eating enough. So I don't think so.
Boot camps can be a great choice to get a troubled teen back on track.
From my experience, attending a boarding school in senior year is great! The most important lesson I got from my three year experience in a boarding school is that we get to be independent and learn how not to rely on others all the time to solve our problems. From that I also have more self confidence knowing the fact that I have lived 3 years of my life away from my parents. Next time I would already be used to it. The choice is yours actually, and your choice whether you will attend boarding school or not should also be approved by your parents. Often people that attend boarding school without permission by their parents end up doing badly at school. If you've got the permission, you have confidence that you can stay away from your parents, you are confident that you can solve your own problems (don't rely on friends all the time), and that you promise you will be responsible of your actions while at boarding school, then why not? Go for it! I am Mita, I want to say you that boarding life is just amazing. I also agree with RosaMistica that attending a boarding school we get to be independent and responsible that we can face any any challenge effectively. Also, in boarding schools we we will meet people from other backgrounds and we will learn that how to interact with them. I also studied in boarding school and I have got great experience over there. I think you should go for baording school.
It all depends on what you are like. I suggest you take a personality test and figure out which one would fit you best. Give your daughter a personality test. there are many you can find online.
