There are different ways. If you were doing something like putting in the numbers from 1 to 10, you could do it different ways. You could type them in individually. You could type 1 in, and in the next cell type a formula that adds 1 to the previous value and copy it down. You could type 1 in a cell, then 2 in the next cell and the select both cells and then drag and more numbers will fill in. You could use the Fill Series feature, by specifying what you want including the type of data, the start and end points, and the step value.
