∙ 12y agoNo. There is a wine called 'white zinfandel', but it is a blush or rose wine. The zinfandel grape produces a robust red wine, but sales of the white version far exceed that of the red. It is the skin of the berry (grape) that gives a wine its color. Under the skins of virtually any berry, the pulp is whitish or pale green like the typical Thompson or Sultana grape. This comes as a surprise to almost everyone. The zinfandel grape contains so much sugar that it can produce a wine with an alcohol content in excess of 15%.
