No. As a teacher I hate gum chewing in class. The one thing that bothers me is when students pop gum and play with it. If someone sits quietly chewing that is a bit different, but I ask students to throw gum out as a matter of course. People also don't seem to throw it away properly, but it is all over the floors and on furniture and that is gross.
Primarily because people don't dispose of gum properly, so it is stuck to the bottom of desks or thrown on the floor or ground and walked on and creates a cleaning nightmare.
