Yes! - actually they have pretty much caught up.
Several Reasons:
1. With our societies growing health awareness, it is no longer a "healthy" or a desirable practice to starve ones self in order to look attractive to men ( or women ). On the contrary, a woman with a larger backside is normally eating well, and not undernourished.
2. Woman are hitting the gyms a lore more than in the 80s and 70s, and doing their cardio and weight training. That gives volumes and tone to your glutes, and makes your body want to eat more and repair the damage to your muscle.
3. In the entertainment industry a lot of women are no longer starving themselves, and simply taking better care of themselves, and this does not mean eating less, it means eating more quality foods and certainly getting a lot more protein. When you see this standard on TV, you tend to want to look like your favorite celebrity.
4. I have not 100% verified this, but a friend of mine who is a doctor tells me that the kids are eating much more enhanced foods ( hormones, etc ), that contribute to their filling out much more.
5. White people are more into hip-hop these days ;)
6. Also, studies have shown that the most attractive thing to a man, visually, is a very sexy hip-to-waist ratio ( i.e. the hourglass shape ). That indicates a female more capable of being a good mate.
