Recent research has shown that children raised with a dog in the home have a lower instance of asthma when they get older. These children also have fewer allergies.
Yes it is the dog has fur which is what triggers asthma The dog I have is a shih tzu, which has hair instead of fur. The only disadvantage with a dog with hair is hair grows fast and the dog will need to have his/her hair trimmed more often like ours.
Not just Yorkies, all dogs shed, so if your child is allergic to dogs then keep him away from ALL dogs. Not just Yorkies, even if they tend to shed a lot too. It all depends on the individual. My children and I have asthma and our Yorkie doesn't bother us at all. I do bathe him every couple days as well as take him to the groomer every other month, just to keep all of our allergies in check (even his!)
yes it is good for asthma
Yes! they are fantastic for people with asthma
I actually raise Yorkies or you can go through AKC or APRI for a list of breeders in your area.
Yorkies are pets. There are no wild yorkies to eat anything.
Yorkies are known for being feisty, energetic, and affectionate dogs. They are also intelligent and loyal, but can sometimes exhibit stubborn behavior. With proper training and socialization, Yorkies can make great companions.
