If you are visiting Huntington Beach, the first place you are probably interested in is the beach! With over eight miles of uninterrupted shoreline, any beach-comber will feel at home here. The Huntington Beach shoreline is made up of four different beaches which are all connected to make the long stretch of coastline. Want to bring your dog on vacation? Not a problem. Dog Beach lives up to its name and allows dogs to roam about and even play in the water. You can surf, make sandcastles, or just stroll around the beach as the sun sets over the water. After it gets dark, make use of one of the many fire pits and build a fire for light and warmth. Huntington Beach Pier stretches roughly a third of a mile into the ocean and makes a great vantage point for relaxing and watching the waves. It is also a great place to fish from, and the pier has bait shops right on it for your fishing needs, as well as fish cleaning stations. There are also restaurants and shops located at the base of the pier, and on the pier itself. The Pier Plaza Amphitheater hosts a weekly farmer's market, free concerts on summer weekends, as well as other events throughout the year. If you are interested in camping and walking during your vacation, there are beach campgrounds to park an RV and many places to walk around. Main St. is very close to the ocean and has many shops, restaurants, and some historic sites of California. Huntington Beach is close enough to Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm that one or both of those theme parks could easily be visited on a beach vacation. There are many other places to visit near the beach, including Angel's Stadium, an aquarium, and museums. Huntington Beach offers something for everyone and makes an excellent choice for a family beach vacation
