It depends on the nature of the wood product. Raw wood materials would not be permitted, but wood products that had been properly treated would most likely be permitted. Raw, untreated wood can transmit bugs and diseases, and even though Australia has fewer of these bugs and diseases than North America, Customs officials would probably frown upon the movement of them between two countries.
