interesting: in effect you are, because you have reached the terminal velocity for your surface area, which happens to be very large!
if wrong, someone please correct me.
In free fall parachuting, the jumper exits the aircraft on their own and experiences a period of free fall before deploying the parachute. In static line parachuting, the parachute is deployed automatically upon exiting the aircraft due to a cord (static line) connected to the aircraft.
"Free fall" means that an object falls only under the influence of gravity; specifically, air resistance can be ignored. An open parachute does not normally fall in this category."Free fall" means that an object falls only under the influence of gravity; specifically, air resistance can be ignored. If the parachute is too small, then the load it is carrying will fall faster, the same thing is with big parachutes. If it is medium sized it will fall at a desirable rate than a larger or smaller parachute.
Yes but due to air friction we cant see it free falling.
The falling of a parachutist without his parachute deployed will be quite fast. We can slow his decsent by putting a drag on the free fall with a parachute. The fall is no longer free of drag (friction).
The man with a small parachute will fall faster.
When you jump/fall from an inthinkable height without parachute or any other safety devices. When a bird retracts its wings and fall striaght down it is consiered a free fall.
You fall for free
So you get away for the plane and you do get caught, plus you get to free fall
Assuming the jumper free falls from an airplane at a typical altitude of 12,000 ft, it would take approximately 12 seconds to fall the first 1000 ft. If the parachute opens at 1000 ft, the jumper will then have a controlled descent for the remaining distance to the ground.
For xbox 360 ONLY, press RT to put the parachute on, get on a building or in a helicopter, jump off, press A to activate the parachute, you can press Y to remove your parachute but you will fall either safely in water, or to your death on land.
Changing the weight of a parachute will affect its descent speed. A heavier parachute will fall faster while a lighter parachute will fall more slowly. This is because the weight influences the drag force acting on the parachute during descent.
