I have done some research on this myself and have learned that if the mother has Celiac the child is more likely to get it then if the dad does. But on average with the mother, the child would have a 20-35% chance of inheriting it. With the father it is far less likely at 5-10% chance. There are many studies that have shown that breast feeding and introducing gluten (baby formulas) to a child at the age of 6-9 months old instead of earlier on can help reduce the risk of developing celiac disease. This is just from research I have done so I hope it helped!
Yes. Celiac disease is completely genetic and the chances of you having it if an immediate family member has it are very good. You should definitely get tested as soon as possible.
It doesnt really spread.....you just cant eat wheat. It's like an allergy, you have symptoms and it effects your small intestine.
i believe that u are born to get the disease. smoking doesnt increase the chances because the cancerous cells are born with u.
Phenylketonuria is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder. The enzyme phenylalanine hydroxylase is necessary to metabolize phenylalanie, but when this enzyme doesnt work, phenylaline accumulates and is detected in the urine. The disease is detected during pregnancy, and if treated right away the newborn can develop normally. However, if left untreated, the brain will not develop properly.
