If you took 2 tests and they turned out positive but the urine test the dr took was negative, you could possibly have to have a blood test. Just wait a while. Just be patient. I know it's hard, but just try.
The same reason you could get one negative and three positive at home. Almost all pregnancy tests are around 98% accurate. The one at the doctors was most likely wrong and from he sounds of it a congratulations is in order! If you're still not convinced, (like me, I took 4 at home and 1 at the docs before I believed it!) get another test done by your GP.
There are more times that a preg test will show a false-negative than a false-positive. A preg test tests for HCG levels in your urine. Sometimes very early in pregnancy the HCG levels are too low to measure. I would suggest that your levels were too low in your urine in the second test and it showed negative.
Wait another week and re-test - I bet you it will show positive.
I'm not sure what brand of test you used but I used First Response and it says in the pamphlet "The test result should be read as soon as possible after waiting the 3 minutes. A positive result will last for at least 48 hours. A negative result should not be read after 10 minutes." I'm guessing that the hormones dry up along with the urine so the test is not longer able to detect it.
Yes they can be wrong. I had 3 positive home tests and my doctors were negative but now i have a 9 week old baby! my GP admitted that some hpts can be better than the ones at the doctors! Many of my friends have used both home pregnancy tests and doctor tests, and the doctors HAVE been wrong. Although, the home-pregnancy tests can, too, be incorrect. One of my friends, home-pregnancy test was negative, and 1 1/2 months later, she was throwing-up and gaining weight, in both her body and breast area. She went to the hospital and sure enough, she was having twins!
There are such things as false negatives in the world of medicine. If it is showing up negative at the doctor's office both times and you think that it is wrong, make sure that you are not drinking a lot of fluids before the appt. If you are drinking tons of water on the day of the appointment, then that may dilute the results therefore bringing a negative result when it is really a positive. With the urine samples, the main purpose is to test that to see if there is a is a chemical/hormone that is being secreted that is only secreted in pregnant women. See what the blood test says. If you are trying to get pregnant/want to get pregnant/think you are pregnant, make sure you are taking multivitamins and eating right.
sometimes home test even shows false result. We cant believe the home test 100%
Go back to the doctor and have a blood test done.
Go and see a doctor!! Obvious...
You should consider waiting for your period or just go to the doctor to check it out
You could by a small chance, but, you might also imagine the symptoms (phantom pregnancy). Or your pregnancy is too small at the moment. Try testing again in a week or two (when your period hasn't started). If still negative and you got the symptoms and no period then go see a doctor.
It could be a 'phantom pregnancy' or the real thing. It's certainly possible to get a negative result and still be pregnant. If you're getting negative self-test results but you're sure you are - go see your doctor and ask him to do a blood test. He'll be able to do a far more accurate test.
I think you go to the doctor to have a blood test.
It can be two things. 1) Pregnancy or 2) Hormonal problems. Because your having pregnancy symptoms and negative pregnancy tests, you need to see your doctor for a blood test and a gynocologist incase its hormonal related.
get a blood test from your doctor
Home pregnancy tests can occasionally have incorrect results. I would suggest waiting another week and trying another test. If the results are still negative and you still have not started your period, you should probably see a doctor.
You could be pregnant, but if I were you, I'd go straight to my doctor.
Go to your doctor.
Mostlikley your not, but in case you should go see you doctor about what is happening and find out weither or not you are.
loads of us go through pregnancy symptoms when we're not pregnant our mind it play tricks on us!!!!! just get over it really cause if it came up negative your not pregnant just forget about it because the more you think about it the more your body will believe your pregnant and that's why you go through pregnancy symptoms because it on your mind all time then your body thinks your pregnant
