Yes. They have a manual 5 speed transmission with reverse.
get a new clutch
if there is a clutch there, you have to.
If you notice slipping when starting off or changing gears after the clutch is completely released, if the pedal rises almost to the top before the clutch engages, if you have difficulty changing gears, or if when you press the clutch the clutch does not disengage completely.
The clutch disconnects drive from the engine to the wheels. It is required to change gears.

You will be unable to shift gears
try to make sure the clutch pedal is all the way down before you change gear. in no way shape or form should you have to floor the clutch everytime you shift gears, however, if you are still grinding gears while flooring the clutch, and if there isn't that little bit of give on the pedal i'd suggest adjusting or replacing the clutch.
Sounds more like a clutch slave cylinder.
You may need to adjust your clutch or replace your clutch.
You have not pressed the Clutch peddle to change the gears!!
