Depending on what type of synthetic you are using. It is a general rule of thumb when changing oil traditionally to have it changed either every 3,000 miles or ever six months which ever comes first. If you are a daily driver then 3,000 miles might be sooner then the six month marker. For synthetic blends I usually use either Mobile 1 or Royal Purple in my '05 PT Cruiser GT and change it roughly every 5,000 miles never going past the 5,500 mile marker.

How long between oil changes with synthetic blend?

if you drive normally, mostly highway, and not in dusty conditions then I would recommend you change it every 7,000 miles. If you drive mostly city then every 5,000 miles. I do not recommend you use a synthetic blend. Either use conventional oil or 100% synthetic. With 100% synthetic you can go 8,000 miles.

Synthetic oil or a blend of Synthetic and regular oil is much better for your vehicle than regular oil alone. Synthetic oil is MUCH more expenshive. If you change your regular oil every 3 months or 3,000 miles I will be fine.

What type of oil does a 2006 Scion Tc take?

depending on the mileage, a full synthetic or a synthetic blend is my recomendation. A conventional oil (standard) is good for 3000 miles. synthetic blend oil is good for about 4000 miles and a full synthetic is good for 5000 miles. If your tc is over 75000 miles then either a full sythetic or a high mileage oil is recomended. I bought my tc at 72000 miles and right away i ran an engine flush, tanny flush, coolant flush, fuel system cleaner and had a full synthetic oil change and the car runs brand new. Jiffy Lube Tech-
