This is the test for tuberculosis. Definately ask your doctor. It all depends on risk. Do you think the child has been exposed to tb? Then you would need to know if he/she has been infected. Exposure is not one in the same with infection. If the child has been exposed, and is infected, the sooner the diagnosis can be made, then the sooner treatment can be started. I don't think there is a minimum age for this test in children. It just depends on risk, whether the child may have been exposed. Better safe than sorry.
