Claude Monet started painting when he was a young child, and he always knew he wanted to be an artist. He went to the Le Havre secondary school for the arts when he was 11 to develop his drawing and painting skills, mentored by artists such as Jacques-Francois Orchard and Eugene Boudin.
Michelangelo Buonarroti and Claude Monet are famous painters. Rene Magritte and Berthe Morisot are famous painters.
There are quite a few well-known impressionists. Claude Monet is credited with "inventing" impressionism and it was the title of one of his paintings that gave its name. His close friend Auguste Renoir embraced the idea from the start. Alfred Sisley is another painter deeply involved as was also Camille Pissarro. Berthe Morisot is getting more and more admired for her impressionist paintings.

Monet was born in November of 1840, he started at the Secondary school or arts in in April 1851. During this time he began to paint and use charcoal on his studies. He also received art lessons from Jacques-Louis David at this time. Many of his paintings were painted around 1870-1874.
