If a particular model has a strong look and is in demand, she/he can lead a long career, however, many retire early on in order to pursue other interests, such as college or to settle down and have a family. The average working model could end up retiring by the time he/she is in his/her 30s. In the case of supermodels, they typically don't retire until they are in their 50s (keep in mind they have the influence, money and resources to still look great at this age, plus their name carries enough significance that clients will still go out of their way to work with them).
