There really isn't an FMCSA-imposed age limit - it comes down more to a matter of company policy. As a minor, no company is going to allow you to ride with anyone who isn't a direct relative, and, quite frankly, someone who is still a minor really has no business being out there on the road. Lots of seedy types in this industry, lots of idiots who want to race through truck stop parking lots (and it's not uncommon to hear of drivers being killed in truck stop parking lots for that exact reason)...
