On a 1996 Mercury Cougar ( 3.8 litre V6 and 4.6 litre V8 engines )
Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine
Sensor 2 is in the exhaust AFTER the exhaust has passed through the catalytic converter ( downstream sensor , also called catalyst monitor )
Bank one is the side of the engine with cylinder #1. Sensor 2 is after the catalytic converter.
bank # 1 is the passenger side of the engine , sensor # 2 is after the catalytic converter ( downstream )
That would be the O2 sensor after the catalytic converter.
I have a code DTC P0154.Bank 2 Sensor 1 no activity.Which sensor is this on my 96 Blazer?
Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine in a Ford Explorer Sensor 2 is in the exhaust after the catalytic converter ( downstream )
On a Ford Mustang ( V6 and V8 ) Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine
bank one would be the passenger side
bank 1 sensor 1 is where the number cylinder side is before the cat so bank 2 sensor 2 is the other side and after the cat
Bank 1 sensor 1 is upstream bank 1 sensor 2 is downstream
On a 1995 Mercury Cougar ( V8 and V6 ) Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine Sensor 1 would be close to the engine before the exhaust passes through the catalytic converter
Bank 1 is the bank that sits closest to the front of the vehicle. Bank one is the bank with cylinder # 1. You have 4 oxygen sensors, (bank 1 sensor 1, bank 1 sensor 2, bank 2 sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor2). Follow the exhaust from the head of bank 1. The first sensor you come to is sensor 1, the second is sensor 2.
Bank # 2 is the drivers side of your V6 engine Sensor # 1 is before the catalytic converter
