Nearest is Anvers, but that's still 500 feet below the top of the hill. Luckily, if you walk up the Rue de Steinkerque 100 yards, you'll come to the funicular railway. A trip on that costs one metro ticket.

There is no Notre-Dame metro station. The nearest is Cité. It takes about 15 minutes from there to Gare du Nord. The Saint-Michel-Notre-Dame station (metro and RER) is slightly further from both.
