That is typically caused by a faulty alternator. Have the alternator tested; the light is indicating that the alternator is not providing a charge to the battery.
Usually when your battery light will not turn off, you either are about to have generator problems, you have a bad controller, or you have a bad sensor. You need to have someone check it out.
Either you don't have batteries or it just ran out of battery power.
Have you tried placing the car in park and or nuetral? possible neutral safety switch failure.
Not necessarily. Any decent mechanic can tell you what the problem is.
ford transit wont turn over ignition light and battery light on
could be a alt not charging or a loose wire on the alt or a bad ground
BAD SAFETY SENCOR
maybe ignitoin or ignition switch
Unhook your battery, then put the key in the ignition and turn to start for 30 sec. This will restart your computer and turn the light off but it wont fix the problem.
Check your battery
If the battery is good and the starter is good, then you must have a wire disconnected somewhere.
Turn you battery round the right way and it might.. :)
