-First sight of the opposing team

So it should go like this:

At exactly dawn on October 14th, both sides were ready to fight....(then continue writing and then,)

...although Harold Godwinson and his English army got the upper hand advantage of the hill...(write things that are descriptive and catch the readers' attention).
