Average speed = distance/time
Distance traveled by an object per unit of time is called speed. Speed is a scalar quantity. It is always greater than or equal to zero. Direction is not associated with this physical quantity. Speed at any instant is called instantaneous speed. Speedometer in vehicles show instantaneous speed viz. speed at any instant of time. Speed at any instant = derivative of traveled distance with respect to time = dx/dt.
Instantaneous velocity mean change of displacement in extremely small amount time. (in math way, taking[ lim t--->0 (change in displacements/change in time) ]. instantaneous speed is the same expect displacement change to distance. So,because of very very small change in time, magnitude of distance and displacement will be same for any direction the object is moving.
The instantaneous speed is the gradient of the graph at that particular point.
Speed is distance traveled through motion per some unit of time. It can also be defined as the rate of change in position along a single path. Speed is a scalar value, not a directional one.It is similar to the definition of "velocity", except that in "velocity", the direction is also important. If the velocity is constant, you can simply divide distance traveled by time. The general case, however, is that velocity is the derivative of position, with respect to time. In symbols: v = ds/dt. If you are not familiar with derivatives, this basically means that to get the instant velocity, you divide the distance traveled by the time it takes, for a very short time period.Speed is the Distance covered per unit time. where as velocity is the Displacement per unit time. Distance is the actual length covered by the Object between two endpoints & Displacement is the length in the straight line between two points.

Besides obviously distance at any instant, on a connected, continuous distance-time graph, you can obtain instantaneous velocity and instantaneous acceleration.
Because people are randomly adding your PIN & instant messaging you.
Because when you look at the speedometer it is telling you your speed at that particular instant in time, it changes from instant to instant.
what is speed at a specific instant in time
The average speed is the speed that it takes to travel a certain distance in a certain time. Average speed is determined by dividing the distance traveled by the time taken to get there. Instantaneous speed is a certain speed at any given time.
