How To Potty Train A Puppy

Potty Training should begin as soon as your puppy gets home. Puppies urinate frequently and success in house training a puppy depends on anticipating their needs - they should be given the opportunity to relieve themselves at least every two hours. You can usually tell when a puppy 'wants to go' because it will begin looking around, walk in circles and start sniffing for a place. That's your cue to take your pet outside or to the designated area. Remember you must stick to a strict routine, when house training a puppy, so it will quickly learn to be clean within the home. It is also important when learning how to potty train a puppy, that you don't get complacent, or your dog's toilet training can take a back-slide. Continue with the toilet training routine until you are sure that your puppy knows that indoors is not the place to go. Gradually decrease the number of outdoor trips and newspapers inside, but if there are any accidents, just increase the number of visits outdoors again.

I recently got a puppy her name is lady Mae and she is a golden retriever and beagle mix she was 11 weeks when we got her we got her about a week ago anyway the right time to potty train your puppy is about 10 weeks old because they start to understand "bad dog" and "Good dog" try not to start to late or it is a lot harder because they are use to going potty in your house.

your dog should be toilet trainable by 8 weeks.
some ideas are...
a good rule of thumb is to add 1 to as many months old as they are to figure out how many hours they can stand before relieving its self. so, if your dog is 8 weeks, that adds up to 2 months, plus one equals 3 hours. ( your dog may not be able to hold on that long, mine can't.) so you will soon get to know how long he can hold on for.then take him out when he is due.NEVER EVER TELL OFF YOUR DOG FOR RELIEVING ITS SELF INSIDE. the main reason they go inside is if they are exited, nervous,or have just eaten or drunk. When you take him or her out toilet, say 'toilet' then, when it is relieving its self, say 'toilet' then 'good boy/girl'. they will soon understand the word.

You don't need to know when you need to potty train a dog because you can start as early as you want. The earlier the better. You wouldn't want to potty train a dog when they have matured already. In my opinion, potty training a puppy would be a lot less messy and that way, when your pet is needing to go when they're growing up, they won't still be peeing on your carpet.

You can start training when they begin to urinate on their own at about 4 weeks old by providing a place for them to relieve themselves, like paper on the floor. Puppies need to be a little older to master housebreaking, 2-4 months is usual.

Well, potty training them while they have just been born would be pointless as they would not understand anything. You should start from 3 to 3 and a half weeks. By then they will understand and that's when I started to train my puppy. It works for me :D .
