To make the perfect cake you must follow the instructions very carefully. This recipe is for fairy cakes. The recipe I always use is amazing and the cakes made from it taste really good. Here it is:
125g of butter/margarine
125g of self-raising flour
125g of caster sugar
2 eggs
1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees
2. Cream the butter and the sugar in a mixing bowl until it is light and fluffy.
3. Add the eggs and beat them into the buttercream mixture. Stir it until the eggs are all mixed in.
WARNING! Don't eat the mixture after you have added the eggs because raw egg contains a bacteria which can cause food poisoning. So never let the kids lick the bowl! Don't over stir the mixture though because the egg will curdle.
4. Next, seive the flour and mix the cake batter until it is smooth.
5. Pour the mixture into the paper cake cases.
6. Put the the cakes in the oven and check them every 5 minutes. Every mixture is different so I can't give you a time when they will be done. All I can say is the they will not take any less than 10 minutes. If you can put a knife through the middle and the knife has cake mix on it when you extract it, then the cakes are not cooked yet.
