Lemuel means "belonging to God" in Hebrew. In Hebrew it's spelled למואל. This was the name of a king briefly mentioned in the book of Proverbs in the Bible.
Traditionally, King Solomon is credited with writing most of the Book of Proverbs in the Bible, although some sections are attributed to other figures, including King Lemuel and Agur.
