∙ 11y agoOne must first understand what the 'mourning' is which Jesus is referring to. It's not referring to mourning in general.
James 4:8-10 explains that our own sinful state and subsequently our alienation from Jehovah God, should be a cause for mourning.
They are 'comforted' when they learn that their sins can be forgiven by exercising faith in Christ's sacrifice; and that they can gain a relationship with Almighty God.
Ezekiel 9:4 shows that we should also mourn over the horrible conditions in the world which dishonors God.
We are comforted to learn that God has promised to 'cut off' all evildoers; and that only 'meek ones will inherit the earth, with an abundance of peace.' Psalm 37:9-11
And while we might mourn the death of a loved one;
-- we are blessed to learn that Jehovah God has promised to raise the dead 'on the last day'. John 11:24

I have more questions than answers on this one. Happiness can be gained by comforting those feeling sorrow, if that is what you are asking. Every person is different though and achieves happiness differently. Keep that in mind.
