Blown fuse, bad blower motor switch, blower motor itself, or a defective blower motor resistor pack.
i have an 03 grand prix and yes it was the blower motor resistor also check there is a fuse for fan low and fan high or something like that
The blower motor resistor circuit board has gone bad. Replace the blower motor resistor. I did Still dont work Try the fuses...Had the same problem and it was a blown fuse.
Blower wont work on all 5 speeds, usually the lower speeds tend to go first.
Does the blower work? If not the problem is likely the fuse or a failed blower motor. If it works but blows cold air you probably have a broken engine coolant thermostat. Have you checked your coolant level?
Check your fuse box for a blown fuse and also check your connections at the blower motor.
if the resistor isn't bad then you should have all speeds, temperature, and levels for the vents working. if your not getting anything blowing threw the vents at all give the blower moter a couple taps and if that doesnt work then its 99% likely the blower motor is blown
blower motor won't work
usually the blower motor resistor pkg. located on or near the blower motor
I have a 2002 Grand Prix GT that does the same dang thing!!! With the heat and the air!! Hey Bill ==It could be the resistor pack which is on the evaporator case. Check it out. GoodluckJOE THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE AS SIMPLE AS A RELAY FOR THE BLOWER MOTOR. I had to deal with the same thing on my 2001 Grand Prix GT, just last week. I turned out to be the blower fan motor resistor pack, which is located under the passenger side dashboard, behind the blower fan. It was really a b!t@# to get to, and I had to remove the fan, but once you get to it, its and easy fix. I fyou still have a hard time locating the resistor pack, look for two wires (either red and black, or purple and black) running to the blower fan motor.
I work at Chevy dealership and we put 5 quarts of motor oil on 3.8L engine... In fact i have 2002 Grand Prix GT.
If you are saying the blower motor will not work, then check the fuse. If the fuse is not blown, then it is possibly a defective Blower Motor Resistor Pack, blower motor, or blower motor speed control switch, in that order. If you are saying the blower motor will not work, then check the fuse. could be a fuse, a relay, the blower motor or the blower resistor. It's easy to check the fuse, using the owners manual. I am not sure where the relay is, and it requires special tools or replacement with a known good relay to test. If the blower works on high and no other speed, then the resistor is bad. If fuse and relay are good, and blower does not work in any position, suspect the blower motor itself.
