I just bought a 1979 P & D 25' boat with an 8'6" beam and a newer crusader 350 straight inboard--not an i/o--for a very low price--under $2,000.00. I am a former Robalo 21' owner, so I liked that this P & D has a really deep V hull and is 25'--should be great for off shore and for tuna fishing--but it is now up on blocks and I have yet to take it for a spin-- only heard the engine run and the trans turn--it will need some cosmetic and restoration work--but is seemingly structurally sound. I have high hopes that this will be the fixer upper I have been searching for. But I am interested in seeing a photo of yours because I can find so little info. on the make/manufacturer. Can you email same to pipking@comcast.net? Thank You. Steve G.

Start with obtaining a quotation for boat insurance, and let the agent/company know that you will be chartering the boat. If the chartering operations are incidental, the boat insurance may extend coverage. They will ask if the boat to be chartered includes a captain or not. Another recommendation is to call a boat charter company and ask for an evidence of insurance. Then you can contact the insurance company that provides it.

whoever owns the company that he sails for or if he owns the boat and is on a crew than the skipper of the boat
Of course they can. The title probably shows a lien on the boat. Until you pay in full, they can take the boat back.
