It is not normal to have bone sticking out after wisdom teeth are pulled. It is normal to have stitches and skin that cover the bone, so it is a good idea to check with your dentist if you can see bone.

∙ 11y agoThis just happened to me...after it got larger and larger, extremely painful and after the dry socket healed, I went back to the dentist. He said a bone in my jaw healed improperly and would have to be "filed down." I just had that done- a week after finding out. The oral surgeon cut into my gum, filed down the bone and I am now in extreme pain!!! I hope this goes away soon!
