The Catholic Church is a Christian organization - last study suggests there are about 41,000 worldwide 'christian' organizations in the world today. What is necessary for each of you to do is to see where you are in agreement and disagreement over biblical teachings and the government of the organization. Then each of you must come to an agreement whether your religious views will have an impact on your relationship and then decide how to proceed.

As noted above, being 'christian' can mean many differing things. Fundamentalist or evangelicals would not conform to Catholic teachings just as those who are Catholic believe they are the 'mother' Church which has had many 'wayward' daughters leave from it over the centuries. Mixed relationships face many trials and errors so it is better to decide if/how you will proceed.
